Charlie Kirk is dead

It was Wednesday, September 10, 2025, in the evening. My son Leo was learning the periodic table. I helped out by cutting colorful cards, on which he wrote the symbols of the elements on one side and the names and details on the other.

During a break, I grabbed my MacBook to read your emails. One tab was open on X.com.

I read from Candace Owens:

Everyone please stop what you are doing and pray for Charlie Kirk. Please. (@RealCandaceO, 09/10/2025)

In German, it roughly translates to: „To everyone, please stop what you are doing and pray for Charlie Kirk. Please.“

Eighteen thousand retweets. I felt uneasy. I quickly typed the name „Charlie Kirk“ into the search.

I learned: Charlie Kirk was shot.

Then I saw, without any preparation, a video that was supposed to show the assassination.

Of course, I clicked the play button.

In the video: Charlie Kirk, live at one of his many public debates, is shot in the neck. His head snaps back. Blood sprays.

We see images and a short video of a suspect who was initially detained. He is pinned to the ground on his knees. Later it turned out he could not be the perpetrator.

I did not share the horrific video of the attack on X.com. I reposted a photo of Kirk and his wonderful family (@dushanwegner, 09/10/2025). We pray for and hope for his recovery. But if his work is to be over for now, then this is the image we want to remember – because this is what „the good people“ want to destroy.

While I was writing the first draft of this text, it was still unclear whether the assassination attempt was „successful“ – it was. Kirk was still in the hospital (foxnews.com, 09/10/2025).

Donald Trump also called for prayer (foxnews.com, 09/10/2025). Later he would announce Kirk’s death.

I resolved to follow the calls for prayer, one way or another.

It is still unclear whether and how strongly the perpetrator is influenced by the „Democrats“ and their propaganda. I suspect, I admit, that he is a leftist and a Trump hater – whoever he is. The horrific act fits seamlessly into the inhumane, brainwashed rhetoric of „the good people.“

A few hours before the attack on Kirk, presumably as an emotional reaction to the murder of 23-year-old Ukrainian Iryna Zarutska (nypost.com, 09/09/2025), Phillip Stein wrote:

There can be no reconciliation anymore. (@stein_schreibt, 09/10/2025)

The attack on Charlie Kirk underscores the assertion that reconciliation with the forces behind these acts would be a crime.

But reconciliation with whom?

„How much devil is in politics?“, I asked in 2023.

If you or I were to think that we are merely dealing with a political opinion in the form of „the good people“ and „the leftists,“ we would be naively criminally naive.

Just recently, in July, I picked it up: „The greatest trick of the devil,“ I wrote, „was to make the world believe that he does not exist.“

Let me quote one of the closing passages from that article today with renewed emphasis: „We are not (only) fighting against flesh and blood, we are fighting against the evil spirits in whose service these people stand.“

On social media, such as on „Bluesky,“ the attack is grotesquely celebrated by those who consider themselves „the good people.“ I ask you, even if you consider yourselves atheists: Who, if not demons and other servants of the devil, celebrates and rejoices when a family man is shot in the neck and bleeds to death?

I do not know if you believe in God – I myself took a break regarding this. But if you see the work of „the good people,“ and if you recognize Satan and his demons in it, who do you think they are fighting against?

A very natural reaction to this recent attack would be to keep your head down to avoid becoming a victim yourself. The thuggish gangs of Antifa in Germany will surely feel encouraged by this barbarism.

Yes, if you stick your neck out and speak the truth, you might perhaps be attacked.

But those who stand „on the safe side“ today are, morally speaking, handing the weapon to those who stab innocent girls and shoot dissenters. Do you want that?

Jesus says: „For whoever wants to save their life will lose it; but whoever loses their life for my sake will find it. What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?“ (Matthew 16:25-26)

You do not have to be a believer to feel: Those who do not straighten themselves today will die crooked.

Charlie Kirk’s „crime“ was to seek public dialogue with those whose opinions he did not share, to listen to them, and then to publicly counter with arguments.

Graham Linneman writes:

„They just created a million Charlie Kirks.“ Oh, if only that were true! No, his eloquence and debating talent were and are not present in millions. That is why he had to die. But his willingness to speak the truth even under constant threat from „the good people“ and the murderers motivated by „the good people“ – if we do not find that in ourselves millions of times over, then we are simply lost.

Yes, pray for Charlie Kirk’s soul. And then also again for yourselves. Pray that today – again or finally? – you find the strength to do what you feel in your bones is right.

My son has finished his chemistry homework. Now, before going to sleep, he is reading The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.

I wanted to publish this text, and then I learned that Charlie Kirk had passed away. So I edited the text (removed the hope, switched to past tense).

I have never been more at a loss about what kind of world my son is growing up in.

I have never been more certain about which side I want to stand on in this new world.
