The Problem is the Midwits

I am telling you, and you will soon agree with me: The problem is the Midwits.

Everything our ancestors worked for, everything we hoped for our children – everything will be destroyed by the Midwits.

First, the Midwits will destroy those who have been tasked with destruction. No, more precisely: The Midwits will be grateful and satisfied when it is done. And then the Midwits will be bled out, like sheep for the sacrificial feast in Germany’s bathrooms. And not a few of these Midwits will bleat their approval for that too.

That what I say here about the Midwits and their effect is true is evidenced by the fact that even if you have never heard the word „Midwits“, you still know who and what the people are that I am talking about.

Let me explain!

Among the truths that a person should learn early in life, and which they will only understand later (if at all), is the insight encoded in the „IW Bell Curve / Midwit“ meme (see knowyourmeme.com).

You surely know the Bell Curve. This is the mathematical representation of a statistical normal distribution, and it looks like a bell. (See also the essay „The Bifurcation of the Bell“, published earlier this year.)

As an example: The height of a group of people with similar genetics is expected to distribute as a bell.

The most famous of all bells, however, describes the „normal“ distribution of human intelligence, measured and quantified via IQ, „intelligence quotient“. It is this IQ bell curve that is the focus of the meme with the Midwits.

We see a curve with the known IQ normal distribution.

To the left of the bell, we see a head-deformed „fool“.

To the right, we see a wise person in monk’s robes.

At the very top, however, at the peak of the normal distribution bell and as a representative of the „normal mass“, we see a prototypical woke person (problem hairstyle, problem glasses, bared teeth, and yet weeping profusely).

All three figures „say“ something, express an opinion, an insight.

The person depicted as „woke“ – in this context: the „social middle“ – parrots the known platitudes, the permitted opinions, and the daily slogans of propaganda.

The real joke of this joke lies in the fact that the fool and the wise person say exactly the same thing!

And far too much

Yes, among the truths of this life is indeed that the wise and the simple often arrive at the same insight in their opinions and assessments.

In the middle and majority, however, in the semi-educated mass, we find the Midwits.

The word and the term „Midwit“ combine the terms middle and nitwit. A Nitwit is, etymologically interpreted, a person with a mind (wit) as small as a louse’s egg (nit), in other words: a fool. The Midwits are the fools of the middle.

A Midwit is usually not really stupid – that is his tragedy and his fault! In fact, the Midwit can certainly read and write. He could know if he only wanted to know. The Midwit dutifully earns his living, presumably in an office job, and pays taxes very dutifully (and far too much).

No, earning a living and paying taxes dutifully is truly not blameworthy. The problem is that when Midwits achieve such successes and also form the majority of a society, a satisfaction can set in among them that reminds one of the man who falls from the tenth floor and at the height of the second floor declares: „So far, everything has gone well.“ (See also the essay „Once again one – and another!“.)

As it should appear

The type called Midwit is related to those I wrote about in March of this year: „The Middle Class Does Not Understand Betrayal“. Much earlier, namely in 2018, I warned about these people (without calling them Midwits): „Beware of the Educated!“

Jacques Ellul stated in the book Propaganda that the „education“ of the middle class actually consists of parroting authorities. This „educated“ middle class is the easiest to manipulate through propaganda.

The poor and simple have been taught by life to be suspicious, the rich and experienced have learned the same. Both learned to be distrustful of all fellow humans, and they always consider the possibility that the given situation is quite different from what it seems. That the true truth is often very different from what the authorities claim.

And otherwise

Seemingly „simple“ people know that man, woman, and their children form a family. They know that their soul lacks the foundation and the language without religion. That people without a home and homeland are homeless – and alone without a people.

The truly wise people, the sages and the experienced, arrive at exactly the same insights! In the last third of their lives, the wise among the experienced often return to religion. Or they discover it for the first time. And otherwise, they reassess certain values that they smiled dismissively at during the Midwit phase of their lives. (Yes, even with the „forbidden“ thoughts, the simplest and the geniuses sometimes remarkably resemble each other.)

But what good is the wisdom of the simple, the brilliance of the geniuses, or the experience of the few who kept their eyes open while aging, if it is the Midwits who determine the fate of all people?

They are the ones who indicate

What I have learned about people and their fate is this: If you want to get as close to the truth as possible, listen to the simple and the geniuses, who both live „on the edge“. (But be careful: Not everyone who is called a madman is misunderstood.)

But also listen to the Midwits, the fools of the middle. Yes, they are the eternally wandering mass, but they are also the ones who indicate where our journey really goes.

If you want to know where the shepherd is headed, and he does not want to tell you, just check where the sheep are headed. (But do not consult the sheep about where your journey should go.)
