Those Who Want Germany’s Decline

Alexander Kissler sighs:

Germany is governed and managed by people who want Germany’s decline. There is no other explanation for it. (@DrKissler, 09.09.2025)

It is probably not the first time that Kissler has been haunted by a thought of this nature. And he is certainly not alone in this. For years, I (and thus my readers) have been plagued by the question: If a government wanted to actively destroy the country and society, what else would it do? (See, for example, essays like „The Last Buys Up the Rest“ from 2022.)

In January 2024, I wrote the essay „The Multi-Front War and You“ and also recorded it as a video; the intro of that text read:

Actually, it should be the government’s job to protect the citizens. But in Germany, it seems as if the government is waging a war against the land and its citizens – and they would prefer to ban the protests against it. (Essay from 7.1.2024)

That Germany is falling apart is no longer sensible to deny – it hasn’t been for a while. And that this destruction is being driven by the government, public broadcasting, government-sponsored NGOs, and cross-financed corporate media is also not reasonable to deny. – The only debate is why this destruction is happening, what the motivation for it is.

But Only the Best

In the Talking Points Book, I laid out how the left regularly attributes malicious intent to their opponents in order to drown out the presented facts and arguments in pseudo-moral noise. (Example: „He only presents these statistics because he is a right-wing Nazi – more fight against the right!“)

We do not want to be leftists! It is therefore right and important that Kissler points out in his statement that the attribution of malicious intent is the attempt at an explanation.

Another explanation than the malicious intent of the powerful would be their stupidity. Then they would be either island-gifted, meaning exclusively gifted in terms of gaining power. But once they have gained power, they do not know what to do with it. So they dabble around – or sell the power to the highest bidder. Another explanation would be that these people did not get there by their own strength, like the well-known turtle on the fence post; and in that case, it would be quite clear who would benefit from their power.

And yet all these attempts at explanation are tedious. „Are they stupid or evil? Does it even make a difference?“, I asked in 2018. Today I know: No, it does not.

I know people who do evil and cause destruction and yet are firmly convinced that they only want the best and actually deserve much more gratitude. Yes, such people are stupid, no doubt. But their stupidity is mostly a self-chosen blindness to the actual consequences of their actions – and thus a variation of sheer malice.

Perhaps Simply

I understand Kissler when he says that everything can only be explained by the fact that Germany is governed by people who aim for the country’s decline.

And yet I ask not to close our eyes to the possibility that some of them are actually completely crazy.

Currently, there are reports from Berlin about a delayed new construction in Neulichterfelde – and this report supports the suspicion that some of those up there may simply have a screw loose.

It concerns 2,500 apartments. Yes: Two thousand five hundred. (see bild.de, 09.09.2025)

The construction start has actually been overdue for five years. But since this is Germany and Berlin, the construction company first had to relocate 993 very important fence lizards. I suspect they were placed in a lucrative NGO job.

But now can construction finally begin? Hahaha, no. Not in Germany, not in Berlin.

Collecting and Relocating

Where 2,500 apartments are to be built, there is unfortunately also an ant nest. And it is a species of ant called the „bald-headed forest ant.“

The little critters cannot simply be expected to move before winter, according to the district office of Steglitz-Zehlendorf. In spring, the little creatures will then be collected by hand and relocated. Then construction can finally begin (unless some rare cockroaches have settled in a discarded beer can in the meantime, which would then have to be moved along the Berlin bureaucratic path after another four years).

I do not diagnose any individual employee with specific insanity (although I do not exclude this either). In 2017, I noted that an entire editorial team can lie, even if no individual journalist is aware of any misconduct.

Similarly, it holds: Regardless of the mental state of the individual, the overall system can be crazy. (However, we have not excluded that actually a few of them outside their office corridors might not be fully viable – to put it very politely.)

No, dear friends of progress, it does not bode well for a country when the debate is only whether its politicians are outright evil or „just“ crazy. That is not nice.

But it is nice that the ants are doing well.

If the Germans could just manage to elect a government that loves the Germans even half as much as they love the bald-headed forest ant in Berlin, then everything would be somewhat alright again, wouldn’t it?

No, our hope does not die. Our hope merely assumes more and more loss of reality every day. But then, when one represses reality in one way or another, everything becomes quite bearable (at least until the ants relocate you).
